Nicole Kidman talks about her new movie
In the film, she plays alongside Harris Dickinson (28) and Antonio Banderas (64). Nicole Kidman plays "Romy", a successful company CEO who begins a passionate affair with her young intern "Samuel".
"It’s like, ‘Don’t touch me.’ There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm any more.’ Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life! I’m over it. It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout," Nicole Kidman confesses to the British newspaper 'The Sun'.
The film, which will be released in cinemas in the USA on December 25, 2024 is inspired by the classic thriller 'Basic Instinct'. Director Halina Reijn (48) wanted to tell the story of a woman who has never found sexual fulfillment in her 25-year marriage.
The filming of the intimate scenes was accompanied by an intimacy coordinator, which the actress found helpful, especially under the direction of a woman. Nicole revealed, "Actually doing it justice and trying to be open and raw and available each day in every which way to explore. Because the nature of that film, it was either going to be completely vulnerable and exposed, or you were going to be protected, and then the thing wouldn’t connect."
She then talked about the director: "When I met with Helena, and we talked through it, I was just like, ‘Just give us a safe space,’ and then, ‘Please don’t make me look like a fool.’"
