  • Naomi will be helping many women

In an eye-opening revelation, Naomi Watts, the acclaimed 'Goodnight Mommy' actress, spills the beans on her early menopause symptoms and how it led to the birth of her revolutionary menopause wellness brand, Stripes Beauty. Watts is on a mission: ensuring no woman has to face menopause alone again!

Early Onset, Shock, and Shame

Imagine facing menopause at 36! That's what happened to Watts, catching her utterly off guard and plunging her into a whirlwind of shock and shame.

"My story started so early... It was so shocking and just flooded me with shame," Watts confides to 'People' magazine. With symptoms ranging from irregular periods to night sweats, the journey was anything but smooth.

"I had irregular periods, night sweats and I certainly told doctors about it, but they didn't chalk that up to being anything other than stress or something because of course, 36, no way, you're far too young."

By her early to mid-40s, Watts was having "hardcore symptoms" of menopause, calling it "ridiculous" that there was no community for advice and little education on navigating the transition.

"My skin started going berserk. I had irritable, itchy, sensitive skin,"

"I was in this loop of not knowing enough about my health," she recalls, highlighting the dire need for a community and education on navigating this natural transition.

Fast forward to June 24, and Watts has reintroduced Stripes Beauty, a product line that caters to the needs of menopausal and aging women gracefully.

Stripes is not just a brand; it's a movement towards banishing the stigma around menopause. "Why are we not getting better care?" Watts questions, emphasizing the lack of education and research in this area. From personal care products to guides on understanding menopause, Stripes is paving the way for a future where women are empowered to embrace this phase of life fearlessly.

"I know I had shame and fear and doubt. Chances are that a lot of other people are going through the same thing," she says. "I had a lot of anxiety in the lead up to creating this business, and then I just felt like, well, every woman is going to get to this point. Why are we not getting better care? There's just a lack of education and research."

She adds, "Part of it is taking the shame out of everything, taking the stigma away and just creating this community where everyone gets to share their stories and feel less alone and taken care of."

Watts shares her personal nighttime routine, incorporating Stripes products like Bioderma Micellar Water Makeup Remover for Sensitive Skin, Tammy Fender Eye Gel, and the intriguingly named Vag of Honor. It's all about taking the shame out of menopause and creating a supportive community where women can share their stories.

"There's education available now and there's far less shame," she says. "The conversation has been opened. Women are talking to their daughters and younger generations about it with far more openness than I was set up for in my generation."

"And it's far more empowering," Watts adds.
