It was Ariel Winter's 21st birthday yesterday and she celebrated by shutting down body-shamers on her Instagram post. The Modern Family star has been facing quite the criticism over the years from her fashion and outfit choices to her decision to have breast-reduction surgery at age 17.
Weight Loss Criticism
Ariel has been criticized for using drugs to lose weight, as well as getting plastic surgery to lose weight. Ariel received comments like, "Nothing wrong with being honest and telling her we liked her better before 'the change' she was so beautiful before she started chopping up her body and if me saying so helps one gurl out there to feel beautiful who's thinking of (plastic surgery) then its worth it."
She responded by shutting down the Instagram trolls stating that, "I appreciate you wanting to help girls love themselves the way they are, but you are also kind of cutting someone (me) down. I also didn't get plastic surgery. That is also not being supportive of women if you're just assuming something about the way they look." according to USA Today.
