Miley Cyrus is fondly remembering the time she spent as pop star
"Hannah Montana"! Cyrus's career started when she was cast as the main character on Disney Channel's hit show of the same name, and now years later, she's written a heartfelt message looking back at the time she spent donning the blonde wig!
Cyrus reflects on how "Hannah Montana" changed her life
Cyrus took to Twitter to share the letter addressed to her former persona. "Hi Hannah, It's been a while. 15 years to be exact," she wrote on sparkly stationery emblazoned with the Hannah Montana logo. The show debuted in 2005, and saw Cyrus playing teenager "Miley Stewart," also known as pop star "Hannah Montana"!
She then went on to say she had no idea that when she became "Hannah Montana" for the first time, the character would live on in her heart— and the hearts of her fans— forever! Cyrus explained "Hannah" "provided a superlative amount of fame in return for the anonymity" she gave in return, calling her "a rocket that flew me to the moon and never brought me back down."
Cyrus received a response from "Hannah Montana"
Cyrus continued on with her love letter to her "Hannah Montana" days by thanking "Hannah" for what she gave to her. "You have all my love + upmost gratitude," she said. "Breathing life into you for those 6 years was an honour." The star also thanked her management team and former cast and crew, as well as her family.
To add to the nostalgia factor even more, the official Twitter account for "Hannah Montana" actually reached out to reply to Cyrus's letter! "Nice to hear from you @MileyCyrus. It’s only been a decade," "Hannah" wrote back. The fictional teen pop star became active on Twitter earlier this month, leading fans to wonder if there could be a possible "Hannah Montana" comeback!
It's also ironic that one of "Hannah Montana's" hit songs is called "Rockstar," since that's exactly what Cyrus herself ended up becoming! The singer recently made the jump from pop to rock, and is currently enjoying a successful career with the release of her newest album, Plastic Hearts.
