Mike Tyson is set to return to the ring in a highly anticipated fight against social media star Jake Paul. On Friday, November 15, the two will face off at AT&T Stadium in Texas. For this significant moment—his first fight since 2020—Tyson has planned a heartfelt tribute to his late daughter, Exodus Sierra Tyson. He will wear custom black boxing shorts with her name embroidered in white on the front, as reported by 'USA Today'.
Mike Tyson Honors His Late Daughter
The shorts, designed in collaboration with BYLT Basics, commemorate Exodus' memory. "These shorts were created specifically to honour her legacy," said BYLT Basics spokesperson Robert Pursell.
Exodus tragically passed away in May 2009 at the age of four after an accident involving a treadmill cord. Her brother, Miguel, discovered her unconscious. "There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus," Tyson’s family said in a statement at the time.
Emotional preparation for the fight
In the lead-up to the fight, Tyson sent a strong message to his opponent. On Wednesday, November 13, he warned Jake Paul to expect no mercy in the ring. "I bring the devil himself [into the ring]," Tyson told 'ESPN'. "There are no feelings involved." He added, "My intention is to hurt him. If he doesn’t have the same mindset, he’s in trouble."
