Born in 1964, Michael Landon Jr. followed in his father's footsteps and started to appear on the small screen in 1977 as "Jim" in one episode of Little House on the Prairie. During the 1980's and 1990's he also appeared in the film sequels Bonanza: The Next Generation, Back to Bonanza, Bonanza: The Return, and Bonanza: Under Attack.

In the 2000's Michael Landon Jr. began to produce films and television shows. One of his first projects was Love's Enduring Promise. Since 2013 he has executive produced the American-Canadian Hallmark drama series When Calls the Heart, and last year he began producing the Canadian drama television show When Hope Calls.
Michael Landon Jr. has been married to actress Sharee Gregory since 1987. They have two daughters, Ashley and Brittany, and one son named Austin.
