Mario took on the role of show director Zach, while Courtney served as an understudy for three different roles.

Reflecting on their initial encounter, Mario shared on 'Access Hollywood' in April 2020, "I was doing a six-month run on a show called A Chorus Line, and towards the last two months of the run, Courtney Mazza, this little Italian girl from Pittsburgh, came on the show."

While Mario was captivated by Courtney's talent, he admitted that she didn't initially seem interested. Undeterred, he persisted in trying to win her over, and eventually, he secured a date with Courtney—although she didn't show up. Fortunately for Mario, Courtney rescheduled, and the rest, as they say, is history.

After two years of dating, Mario and Courtney celebrated the arrival of their first child, daughter Gia Francesca Lopez, in September 2010. Mario proposed to Courtney during a beachfront stroll in January 2012, explaining to 'Us Weekly' that he wanted the mother of his children to share their last name. Courtney was initially speechless, then overjoyed, calling it the "best moment of [her] life" alongside the birth of their daughter.

Without delay, Mario and Courtney exchanged vows in December of the same year, and their ceremony was broadcast on TLC. Their second bundle of joy, son Dominic Lopez, made his entrance into the world in September 2013, followed by another son, Santino Rafael Lopez, born in July 2019.
