'War Games'

Matthew Broderick was just 21-years-old when he played main character "David Lightman" in 1983's War Games! War Games followed Broderick's character and his eccentric next door neighbor "Jennifer", played by Ally Sheedy, as they attempted to hack into a video game. Little did they know, but their hacking would almost set off World War III between Russia and the U.S!

'Glory'

Taking on a more mature role just five years later, Matthew Broderick would star as war hero "Colonel Robert Gould Shaw" in 1989's hit film Glory. The film won numerous awards in 1990, including a Golden Globe and three Academy Awards, cementing Broderick's acting career!

1990's The Freshman is one of Matthew Broderick's most iconic roles! For The Freshman, Broderick took on the role of an NYU Freshman who gets mixed up in the business of a Little Italy mobster played by Marlon Brando! At 28-years-old during filming, Broderick's young looks and humor helped to perfect his role as a college freshman!

A lesser known role of Matthew Broderick was the voice of "Simba" in Disney's The Lion King trilogy! The Lion King was one of the most successful Disney movies of the 1990's and it would not have been possible without the sensitive and versatile voice of Broderick!

The film follows the budding romance of Broderick's character "Brian" as he falls in love with single mother "Sammy" played by Laura Linney. This small town America film showed a softer side to Broderick and the movie touched audiences everywhere!

One of Matthew Broderick's most successful films was 2005's The Producers.
