At 67 years old, Mark Harmon is still going strong on the CBS hit crime-drama, NCIS. He described in a recent interview with People how grateful he is to be in the position he is, with his sixteen years and counting on the show. He has absolutely no plans to walk away from the show which will certainly be exciting for "Gibbs" fans to hear.
NCIS: Better ratings this year
"I've always thought if there's ever a time where the writers are walking into the room and going 'I don't know what to do,' then I think we all have to look at each other and call it a day, but we're not there yet," he says to People. NCIS is doing better ratings wise this year than the last, which is quite incredible for a show that has been running as long as this one.
Mark HArmon is grateful for NCIS
Mark Harmon is grateful for the career opportunity and success that NCIS has brought him. He is happy to keep reporting for duty as long as the show is still running. "Nothing goes on forever, but you've got to respect what this show is doing, 16 years in, and how it's doing it, and the people who are there punching in every morning and building what this is. There's a tremendous amount of pride there, so I see no reason to leave," he says to People.
We are also very grateful that Harmon is going to continue playing "Gibbs" on the show. We can't wait for more!
