Omar Sy was born on January 20, 1978 in Trappes, France. Mostly known to North American audiences for being an actor, Sy has also written and performed his own comedy material! He got his start as a comic in 1996, during which time he worked for the Paris radio station Radio Nova.
It was at this time Sy met Fred Testot, and the two ended up becoming good friends, later forming the comedy duo Omar & Fred. 1996 also happened to be the year that another significant partnership in Sy's life was initially formed, as he met his wife Hélène!
