  • Learn more about what he's been up to

Born on July 14, 1966, Matthew Fox (58) first got his big break in 1994 when he was cast as "Charlie Salinger" in the FOX teen drama Party of Five. He starred alongside Neve Campbell in the popular series from 1994 until 2000.

Matthew Fox: "Jack Shephard" on LOST

Fox was seemingly on a roll and soon scored a leading role in another TV drama. He got the part of "Dr. Jack Shephard" on LOST, which ran (successfully!) from 2004 until 2010 and became a phenomenal hit.

Fox starred alongside Evangeline Lilly ("Kate Austen") and Jorge Garcia ("Hugo Reyes") and was one of the fan favorites of the show.

While he was still on the show, Fox also starred in a couple of features, like Smokin' Aces as well as alongside Matthew McConaughey in We Are Marshall in 2006 and Speed Racer in 2008.

Matthew Fox has not been in many roles since 2015

After two very successful decades, the 2010s were not as kind to actor Matthew Fox. He tried to get a foothold and establish himself on the big screen, but most of the movies he was in, failed. 2012's Alex Cross was a commercial and critical flop and he was almost entirely cut out of the 2013 movie World War Z.

Unfortunately, his 2015 appearance in Bone Tomahawk alongside Kurt Russell and Tommy Lee Jones did not gain much attention either. Since that movie, he has appeared in 5 episodes of the 2022 series Last Light and 6 episodes of the 2023 series C*A*U*G*H*T.

The 58-year-old has been married to his wife Margherita Ronchi since 1992 and the couple has two sons. Kyle was born in 1998 and Byron in 2001.
