Olivia Newton-John passed away on August 8 at the age of 73, as confirmed by her husband on Facebook. Her death was preceded by a decades-long battle with breast cancer. The actress and singer is not only missed by fans, but also by her Hollywood colleagues. There are a number of condolences on Instagram.
Grease stars say goodbye to Olivia Newton-John
John Travolta bids farewell to his Grease co-star: "My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again."
Other Grease stars say goodbye to their colleague. They spoke up via People... Stockard Channing ("Betty Rizzo") explained in her statement: "I don't know if I've known a lovelier human being. Olivia was the essence of summer – her sunniness, her warmth and her grace are what always come to mind when I think of her."
Dinah Manoff ("Marty Maraschino") commented, "As many will tell you, Olivia Newton-John was one of the kindest, most generous souls ever to grace the earth, and I was one lucky Pink Lady to have spent time with her during the filming of Grease."
Grease director Randal Kleiser made a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: "I’m Heartbroken. She was one of a kind, and so very kind. For over four decades of our friendship she exuded nothing but love to everyone she met. Olivia was exactly the way you imagined her. I will miss her forever."
