Patrick and his brother Matthew Labyorteaux were both adopted by Frances "Frankie" Marshall and Ronald Labyorteaux. Their mother was an actress and so began bringing the boys to auditions at a very young age. Patrick started acting as a form of therapy and by the age of seven, he was a well-known face in Cheerios and McDonald's commercials.
Patrick Labyorteaux started his career out young
Just days before Patrick's eighth birthday, he got his first starring role in Mame alongside Lucille Ball. Patrick Labyorteaux's television career began in 1973 with the series This Is the Life. His other television appearances include Starsky and Hutch, The Love Boat and Trapper John M.D.. He also co-starred in the series Young Joe, the Forgotten Kennedy as "Ted Kennedy".
Patrick Labyorteaux: His role as "Andy Garvey"
Patrick was cast in Little House on the Prairie in 1977 as "Andy Garvey" and became a household name of the show. When Patrick was asked who he looks up to in the entertainment business, he said "Michael Landon was the biggest influence. As a child I watched him write, direct, star and produce a TV show every week. He showed me what was possible."
Patrick Labyorteaux was great as "Bud Roberts" on JAG
In terms of movies, Patrick did his fair share of those as well. Some of his films include, King of the Gypsies, Bravo Two and Killing Stone. After Little House on the Prairie, Patrick appeared in Prince of Bel Air, Summer School, JAG and NCIS. His second best known role is in JAG where is payed U.S. Naval officer "Bud Roberts, Jr." from 1995 to 2005.
Patrick married TV producer Tina Albanese and had a son in 2001 named Jeau Bennett. He founded the charity named Youth Rescue Fund which aims to help runaway children. With his charity, he has raised about $11 million for youth shelters across America.
