"Some asshole hit it [the fawn] and took off. Who does that?" 'Little House on the Priarie' actress Melissa Gilbert gives free rein to her emotions on Instagram. Previously, she had tried to save a fawn from death, but to no avail.

The "Laura Ingalls" actress is completely stunned. Shocked, she reports on Instagram that she drove a hit fawn in her arms to the animal rescue.
"We saw this cute thing in the middle of the road. [...] We stopped and jumped out of the car to stop traffic. The fawn was badly injured, including a broken leg," she says about the photos .
Despite the help provided, nothing more could be done for the animal. "Unfortunately, there was no way it would survive and so the decision was made to end [the fawn's] life in a humane way," Melissa continued.
The actress is glad that she at least tried to help the fawn, and hopes that it was able to make its passing more pleasant than alone on the open road. "I'm so sorry that your little life ended up being filled with pain. But now you are free, little one.... fly, fly, fly to God," concludes the 'Little House on the Prairie' star.
