This is how "Carrie" from 'Little House on the Prairie' dies
But how does "Carrie" from 'Little House on the Prairie' die? Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush shared the role. Since the series is based on true events, Caroline Celestia Ingalls, as she was known by her real name, really lived; from 1870 to 1946.
Her siblings were Grace, Mary, Charles Jr. and Laura. She shared a tragic commonality with her siblings: all three suffered from the same disease. Carrie, whose story is still known today through 'Little House on the Prairie', died of diabetes on June 2, 1946, at the age of 75.
Although Grace was seven years younger than Carrie, she died before her of diabetes, the predisposition to which is often genetically determined. Grace died of diabetes on November 10, 1941, at the age of 64.
Carrie's older sister Laura Ingalls survived her two younger sisters, with whom she had the disease in common. She died on February 10, 1957, making her a proud 90 years old.
