Lisa Marie Presley opens up about the death of her son Benjamin

"Today is "National Grief Awareness Day," and since I have been living in the horrific reality of its unrelenting grips since my son's death two years ago, I thought I would share a few things to be aware of in regard to grief for anyone who is interested. If not to help yourself but maybe to help another who is grieving," she begins her essay. She goes on to explain that grief is a part of life that never quite goes away.

Lisa Marie also addresses the fact that grieving family members are often judged by others - especially mothers whose children have died.

That's why it's important to connect with people who are going through the same thing. Lisa Marie takes part in self-help groups. She has experienced so much grief in her life, but nothing was as bad as losing Benjamin.
