Life Goes On kept millions of people -including us- in front of their television screens for many years. The series ran from 1989 to 1993, starring Chris Burke as "Charles 'Corky' Thatcher," Bill Smitrovich as "Drew," and Kellie Martin as "Becca," among others.

In case you need a refresher, the television show revolves around the Thatcher family, living in a Chicago based suburban district. The series was the first to have a main character with Down syndrome, played by Burke, who has Down syndrome in real life.

Chris Burke and his Life Goes On character definitely changed the way people viewed those with Down syndrome. As the Goodwill Ambassador for the National Down Syndrome Society, he has raised awareness on his condition for many years.

Since Life Goes On ended, the actor has appeared in several television shows and movies, including the 1994 TV series Commish, the 2002 American police drama The Divisionand most recently ER.
