Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay sent a sweet message to her former co-star, Christopher Meloni, on Thursday. And it was a big week for Meloni! On April 1, news broke that he would reprise his role as "Elliot Stabler" in a new SVU spin-off series. The actor then celebrated his 59th birthday on April 2.

For 12 seasons, Meloni had portrayed "Elliot Stabler" on SVU alongside Hargitay's "Olivia Benson." She's still with the long-running series today, but Meloni departed back in 2011.

Hargitay took to Instagram to congratulate her former co-star on both of his big accomplishments: his new spin-off series and his 59th birthday.

Hargitay's message said "Congratulations and welcome home," along with the hashtags "It'sBeenAWhile," "MissedYou," and "ElliotStabler." Meloni's new "Elliott Stabler" spin-off series is confirmed for 13 episodes, though few other details are known at this time.
Fans will hope for an eventual on-screen reunion between "Stabler" and "Benson," whether it's on SVU or Meloni's new series!
