NBA star Pau Gasol was always close friends with Kobe Bryant, when they were teammates on the Lakers or even when they were competing against each other, the two were very close. Kobe was even seen supporting Pau at games that Kobe was not a part of, and his death was a crushing blow to Pau. Now Pau has just announced the birth of his daughter with Catherine McDonnell and named her in a special way.
Pau posted a photo of his new little family saying in Spanish, "Out little one has finally arrived!! The delivery went really well and we couldn't be happier!! Elisabet Gianna Gasol, a very meaningful name for our super beautiful daughter!! #girldad." Kobe's widow Vanessa Bryant posted to her own Instagram saying "My goddaughter is here!!!! Congratulations @paugasol @catmcdonnell7 Love you 3 so much! So touched by your request to honor my Gigi. Can't wait to hold Elisabet Gianna Gasol."
