In an exclusive interview with People, Kim Cattrall is getting honest about her fears of growing older in Hollywood, as she's noticed that the number of roles keeps dwindling since she hits her 50s.
The actress admits that she's grown as an actress since her Sex and the City days, but that she doesn't feel she's been able to continue her diverse roles.

In her latest interview with People, Kim Cattrall is getting honest about how she feels her career as an actress is "slipping away" as she gets older in Hollywood, and she's noticed the roles are getting cut in half.
The 64-year-old admits that the roles being made available to her in Hollywood are slimming out and that despite being known as the sassy "Samantha Jones" from Sex and the City, she feels that many producers put her in a box she doesn't fit in.
"It was a gradual change, but the scripts were cut in half," she said "[In Hollywood] you’re either an ingenue or a leading lady and then a divorced wife or a cougar. And I’m none of those things. So I wanted to examine that."
Cattrall's new show, Filthy Rich, premiers on September 21, following her other show, Sensitive Skin, which she says she relates most to the character.
"The biggest mystery of life is what happens next," she said. "It’s about embracing the closing of one door. And it’s about your viability, your sexuality, your desirability, and continuing to cherish what meant the world to you. I was questioning, ‘What now? Do you stumble and fall? Or do you flourish?'"

Cattrall said that she wants to "mix things up" with the roles she takes, not always going after just one type of character.
"I don’t want to deliver the same appetizer, main course, and dessert in terms of roles. And times have changed," she shared.
"If 'Samantha' came on now — and I see characters that emulate some of the qualities of that character — it wouldn’t seem as fresh as it was then. It will never be like the first time. And that’s okay!" she said.
Despite the change in career, Cattrall says she's grateful for her time spent acting.
"It’s an incredible thing to have been in the business this long," she said.
"I thought the best thing for my life would be being an actress that worked. And I’m flabbergasted that I’ve gotten as far as I have."
