Keri Hilson's "Pretty Girl Rock" hit made her internationally famous! Born on December 5, 1982 in the U.S state of Georgia, Hilson wanted to pursue a path of music at just the age of 12! By 14, she had already signed her first record deal with a girl group, which later disbanded.

Though Keri Hilson released "Pretty Girl Rock" in 2010 off of the album No Boys Allowed, her first album was actually In a Perfect World..., and released in 2009. Prior to those albums, Keri had put her focus into songwriting, where she helped write songs for Mary J. Blige, Britney Spears, and Ciara. 

She would then be featured in various songs of Timbaland and even rapper Lloyd Banks. These were just the stepping stones for Keri to show off her own vocals and launch her own musical career!

After Keri's hits, "Knock You Down" and "Prety Girl Rock" were released, she became more and more popular among the masses. She even started acting! She has appeared in the films Think Like a Man and Riddick, opposite Vin Diesel

Keri Hilson is also very active in charity work! Not only has she teamed up with Akon to help marginalized youth in Africa, but she has also helped in relief for victims of the 2010 Haiti Earthquake. Here's a list of other charity organizations she's been involved with: 

  • It Gets Better Project, focusing on preventing suicide among LGBT youth
  • Let's Move! campaign, Michelle Obama's campaign tackling childhood obesity
