When it comes to Hollywood marriages, you can always turn to Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman to make you feel warm and fuzzy. The country star opened up about how he felt when he first met his wife.
Appearing on Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert, Urban reveals details on the fiery start to the 14-year long (and counting) marriage to the famous actress.
Keith Urban recounts the passionate start
While on Dax Shepard's podcast, Keith Urban revealed just how passionate he felt for his now-wife, Nicole Kidman, when they first met.
"She's just the one," he said. "She's the one that I was searching for my whole life, and everything not only changed but had to change in me if I was gonna go that road."
Urban, who admitted he was struggling with sobriety at the time they met, revealed that it was meeting her that inspired him to move forward in a more positive direction.
"It was like the ultimate fork in the road moment in my life," Urban continued. "And it was literally like you either get this right now or you are never, ever gonna get it right. This is your one shot."
"It felt so obvious," he admitted. "I knew where I was going ... It was everything I was looking for and then beyond. Just beyond."
Shepard then asked the country singer if their egos ever get the best of them, considering both of their wildly successful careers.
"There are so many other things that I can bring that help and blossom the family, and protect it, and take care of it and grow it, not just fiscally," Urban shared. "I bring everything I can most of the time."
After meeting at a gala in 2005, Kidman and Urban tied the knot in 2006, and share two children, Sunday Rose, 12, and Faith Margret, 9. Kidman also has two other children with her ex, Tom Cruise, son Connor, 26, and daughter Isabella, 27.
In June, the couple enjoyed their 14-year anniversary.
