Kanye West will soon be neighbours with none other than his ex-wife Kim Kardashian! An insider has shared with People that West recently purchased a house in California for millions of dollars, revealing the rapper's motivation behind the purchase was his family.

West "jumped at the idea" of being near his kids

West has bought a $4.5 million dollar property across the street from Kardashian. The source revealed that the home was first constructed in 1955 and is a "teardown," explaining that West "only bought it for the location." However, he didn't buy the house just to be near his ex, as his main motivation is being able to spend time with his kids!

The inside source mentioned that while West already has a home in Malibu, it's been "more tricky" to visit the four children he shares with Kardashian — North West, Saint, Psalm, and Chicago. Now that he will be much closer to them though, the rapper, who has legally changed his name to "Ye," is said to have a clear plan in mind.

West reportedly wants to have a "family-friendly" home constructed so his kids can visit him there "as much as possible." A second insider mentioned that he "jumped at the idea" of owning a property that lets him be much closer to them. While West and Kardashian are not legally separated as of yet, their marriage is said to be beyond repair. Kardashian has officially filed for divorce from West, and is now in a relationship with SNL's Pete Davidson.
