Julia Stiles' Most Iconic Roles!

Julia Stiles was born March 28, 1981 in New York City. She had already began acting at the age of 11, and by 1996, she landed her first movie role with Claire Danes and Jude Law in I Love You, I Love You Not. From then on, she started getting bigger roles year after year. Today, the actress is married to camera assistant Preston J. Cook, and their first child was born in October 2017. Okay let's get real: 10 Things I Hate About You is, in our eyes, the best film from Julia Stiles. She stars opposite Heath Ledger (R.I.P), who plays the bad boy of the high school. This 1999 rom-com will have you in tears by the end of the film. This is our #1 recommendation if you haven't seen it yet! 

Another great rom-com of Stiles is 2004's The Prince and Me. In it, she plays an American college student who falls in love with a Danish prince. It's definitely a fun movie for the hopeless romantic in us!

Mona Lisa Smile was the beginning of Stiles' more serious roles. In this 2003 film, Stiles starred alongside a legendary crew of actresses, including Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The film takes place in the 1950's where Roberts' character tries to convince Stiles to attempt a career in law instead of traditional family life. 

Hamlet, also known as Hamlet 2000, is a Shakespeare adaptation film which stars Ethan Hawke as "Hamlet" and Stiles as "Ophelia". The film is supposed to be a modern-day version of the famous play. Stiles subsequently starred in another Shakespeare adaptation O in 2001, where she portrayed "Desdemona". 

In 2001, Julia played a ballerina in Save the Last Dance. As she struggles in her family life, Stiles relocates to a new town and new school, where she learns the art of hip-hop and of course, falls in love. She won the MTV Award for Best Kiss and Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress. Fun fact: she performed all of her own dancing in the film, no stunt person required! 

Another one of our favorite films of Julia Stiles is in The Bourne films. She starred alongside Matt Damon in The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) and Jason Bourne (2016). In the drama-action film series, Stiles plays "Nicky Parsons". The Bourne series has grossed over $1.6 billion in the box office. 

Julia Stiles isn't just known for her amazing acting in film, but also her roles in television! Stiles had a recurring role in the Showtime series, Dexter, where she played "Lumen Pierce". Her part in the series earned her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. 

Silver Linings Playbook was one of the most favored films of 2012. The film, starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Stiles won many accolades and awards. Julia, herself, was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for her supporting role as Lawrence's sister.
