Jonah Hill is speaking out about finding his self-confidence after dealing with years of bodyshaming from the media! Over the weekend, the Wolf of Wall Street star took to social media to address a recent article that focused on his body, explaining why he's no longer affected by the criticism.
Hill wouldn't take his shirt off at the pool for years
Hill shared that he was only in his mid-thirties when he first dared to run around the pool without a T-shirt, even keeping his top on when he was with friends and family. He said that the press made things worse because of how the media constantly mocked his body, and that made him insecure.
Along with these frank words, the actor posted a newspaper article from the Daily Mail. "Jonah Hill slips into his black wetsuit in Malibu," the headline read, "...before showing off his tattoos while going shirtless to towel himself off."
Hill is no longer upset about being bodyshamed by the media
Hill then shared that while he's struggled with his body image in the past, articles like the one that the Daily Mail published don't upset him today! "So the idea that the media tries to play me by stalking me while surfing and printing photos like this and it can’t phase me anymore is dope," he said on Instagram. "I am 37 years old and can finally love and accept myself."
The actor has undergone an incredible physical transformation in recent years, and even headlines like this can't take the smile off his face. Hill finished his post with an appeal to all young people who keep their T-shirts on by the pool, encouraging them to embrace their own bodies! "You’re wonderful and awesome and perfect," he said. "All my love."
