JoJo Siwa and Kylie Prew may not be girlfriends anymore, but they're still close friends! The 18-year-old star talked about her split from Prew for the first time when she appeared on the latest episode of Paris Hilton's podcast This Is Paris, sharing that while things didn't work out, she has nothing but love for their time together.
Siwa says she's "really lucky" friendship with Prew continued
Siwa said her ex is "literally still my best friend," telling Hilton that they continue to talk and regularly share updates— including the fact Prew got a new puppy! She also called her former partner "awesome," and explained why she feels "really lucky" that they are still in one another's lives. As Siwa pointed out, "even though relationships end, friendships don't have to end."
According to the teen dancer, there wasn't any major drama between her and Prew that brought about the end of their romantic relationship. "But I'm really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times, and nothing bad happened," she shared. She admitted their situation fell into the cliché of it being "right person, wrong time," saying that "everything's good" at the moment.
Siwa first went public with her relationship with Prew when she talked about her on late night television in May 2021, a month after she came out to the world through a social media post. The two dated for 9 months before splitting up in October, during which time Siwa was competing on Dancing With the Stars. The teen has become one of the fan favourites on the show while performing dazzling routines alongside pro Jenna Johnson, and the two have made headlines for being the first same-sex dance partners in DWTS history!
