- Johnny Depp's trial was THE story earlier this year
- His daughter Lily-Rose Depp never commented on the trial
- Depp's daughter now addressed why she didn't speak out
Lily-Rose Depp remained notably silent during the trial of her father Johnny Depp.
The actor had to stand trial in 2022 for domestic violence, among other things, against his ex-wife Amber Heard. But in early June, it was Amber who was found to be the guilty party.

In a new interview, Johnny Depp's daughter now explains why she has never spoken publicly about the trial.
"When it's something that's so private and so personal that all of a sudden becomes not so personal… I feel really entitled to my secret garden of thoughts," Lily-Rose told Elle.
According to the star, she also learned to avoid commenting on such personal matters during her upbringing.
Also interesting:
"My parents protected my brother and me from it as much as possible," she said. "I've just been raised in a manner that has taught me that privacy is something that's important to protect."
Another thing that motivated Depp to stay silent was, she said, the fact that she is always associated with the actions of men.
"I feel like for a lot of my career, people have really wanted to define me by the men in my life, whether that's my family members or my boyfriends, whatever," she explained.
Instead, Lily-Rose Depp said she is finally ready to be "defined for the things" she herself accomplishes.
