While the world watched intently the court battle between actress Amber Heard and actor Johnny Depp, all good things for Depp have now come to an end.
Losing the arduous court battle against The Sun for libel after they wrote an article calling him a "wife-beater," Depp was asked by Warner Bros. to resign from his role of "Grindelwald" in the Fantastic Beasts series.

Warner Bros. has asked Johnny Depp to resign following his loss in court after he sued The Sun for libel following the release of an article that alleged he was a "wife-beater" after ex-wife Amber Heard accused the actor of domestic violence.
Depp confirmed on his own Instagram that he will no longer be playing the dark wizard "Grindelwald" in the hit series Fantastic Beasts, and thanked his supporters during this challenging time.
"I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as 'Grindelwald' in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request," he wrote.

"I'd like to thank everybody who has gifted me with their support and loyalty. I have been humbled and moved by your many messages of love and concern, particularly over the last few days," he continued.
Depp then talked about the court proceedings and how he is currently handling the news.
"Finally, I wish to say this," he started. "The surreal judgement of the court in the U.K. will not change my fight to tell the truth and I confirm that I plan to appeal. My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time."
