John Travolta (66) is a happy family man. Together with his wife Kelly Preston he has a daughter Ella Bleu, who is now 19 years old, and a nine-year-old son: Benjamin.
For a while, however, they were a family-of-five until a tragic blow of fate hit them. John Travolta's oldest son died in 2009 at the age of 16. But what happened back then?
John Travolta's son Jett (†16): How did he die?
Almost eleven years ago, John Travolta traveled to the Bahamas with his family. There, the then 16-year-old Jett suffered a seizure and slammed against the edge of a bathtub with his head. His family found him unconscious, and any attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.
Jett suffered from the Kawasaki disease, which lead to vascular inflammation, and he was also autistic. Since he was two years old, he had already been struggling with seizures.
However, the exact cause of death of John Travolta's son, who would have turned 28 this year, are not a hundred percent known. According to media reports, the death certificate only contained the word "seizure".

While on stage at the Drury Lane Theatre in London, Travolta told the story of how he was finally able to overcome this heavy blow of fate. "I will forever be grateful to Scientology for supporting me for two years solid, I mean Monday through Sunday," he said.
Since 1975, the 66-year-old has been a member of the controversial Church of Scientology. "They didn't take a day off, working through different angles of the techniques to get through grief and loss, and to make me feel that finally I could get through a day," Travolta continued.
Travolta has since suffered another terrible tragedy. His wife, Kelly Preston, died on July 2020 at the age of 57 following a two-year-long battle with breast cancer. Our hearts go out to the family.
