Jennifer Lawrence recently opened up about the celebrity co-star who caused her to freak out! As Entertainment Tonight shares, Lawrence — who is expecting her first child — was participating in a Q&A about her new Netflix film Don't Look Up when she revealed that working with Ariana Grande had her starstruck.
Lawrence says Grande made her "so excited and nervous"
Lawrence first expressed her admiration for Grande's talent, saying that she "can’t make bad music." Then, she told the audience that while working with Grande on Don't Look Up, she found herself going "full radio contest winner" on the pop star because of her enthusiasm towards her! Lawrence said she was "so excited and nervous," mentioning a particular situation where she behaved awkwardly.
The actress said once she came into Grande's hotel room, saying a quick hello before taking a seat. While she may not have given much thought to her behaviour around the "7 rings" singer at the time, Lawrence admitted that while promoting the film, she's been "thinking about it a lot." The film's director, Adam McKay, then made a comment in jest about how Grande "didn't care for" Lawrence.
Lawrence was last seen in 2019's X-Men: Dark Phoenix, so Don't Look Up marks her long-awaited return to film! She plays "Kate Dibiasky" in the ensemble comedy, which also features the likes of Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Grande is enjoying her new position as a coach on The Voice, and was recently cast in the movie adaptation of Broadway musical Wicked alongside Tony-winning star Cynthia Erivo.
