Jennifer Garner: Her Career Through The Years

The gorgeous Jennifer Garner was born April 17, 1972 in Houston, Texas. Now a mother to three adorable children, Jennifer started her acting career in live theater after graduating with a degree in theater performance. In honor of her 52nd birthday, let's take a look back at her best roles through the years!

After starring in smaller roles in various TV series and films including 2001's Pearl Harbor, Jennifer would land the lead role of "Sydney Bristow" on J.J. Abrams popular ABC spy series Alias! Garner had caught J.J.'s eye in an earlier role on his TV series Felicity and wrote the role of "Sydney" with Jennifer in mind! 

Sticking to strong female roles, Jennifer Garner would be cast as "Elektra" in 2003's Daredevil alongside actor and her future husband, Ben Affleck. The film was a box office success, and audiences loved watching Jennifer in her role of "Elektra" so much that there was even a 2005 Daredevil spin-off film titled Elektra! 

Jennifer Garner showed off her versatility and landed her first leading role in 2004's 13 Going on 30. Garner played an innocent teenager who is forced to grow up way too soon in this romantic comedy, and the film would turn her into America's favorite on-screen sweetheart! 

After the success of 13 Going on 30, the early 2000s would bring a string of successful romantic comedies for Jennifer Garner, including The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009) and The Invention of Lying (2009). Pleasant on and off-screen, every director was eager to hire the happy and friendly actress! 

One of our all time favorite Jennifer Garner films is 2010's romantic comedy Valentine's Day! Also starring Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey, and Bradley Cooper, this is one film worth seeing multiple times! 

Perhaps one of the biggest roles of Jennifer Garner's career so far would come in 2013 with Dallas Buyers Club. Starring alongside Matthew McConaughey once again, critics praised Jennifer's versatility and ability to accurately portray any character! 

Along with films for more mature audiences, Jennifer Garner also as a knack for family movies! One of her best family films was the 2014 Disney adaptation of popular children's book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! Jennifer plays the mother of title character "Alexander", and critics praised her for mastering the overworked mother and bringing in comedic relief! 

2015 would bring another big role for Jennifer Garner in the comedy drama Danny Collins, inspired by real life folk singer Steve Tilston. Also starring Al Pacino, this is one Jennifer Garner film you can't miss! 

In 2018, Jennifer Garner returned to action films with crime-revenge thriller Peppermint. At 52-years-old and three kids later, Jennifer Garner still has the amazing body and talent that made her famous in 2001, and she shows no signs of stopping!
