Jay Hernandez, born Javier Manuel Hernandez Jr. in Montebello, California, is an American actor and model. As a teenager, he began sending in casting photos and attended acting classes when he was approached by a talent manager. From 1998-2000, Hernandez had his first television role in the NBC sitcom, Hang Time.
His big first commercial success was in the 2001 film, Crazy/Beautiful, where he starred alongside Kirsten Dunst. The film earned an ALMA Award nomination for Outstanding Actor. From then on, he was cast in a variety of films, such as The Rookie (2002), Torque (2004), and Friday Night Lights (2004). One of his more popular film roles was in the horror film Hostel (2005) and its sequel, Hostel: Part II (2007).

In 2016, Hernandez starred in two of the biggest blockbusters of that summer: Suicide Squad and Bad Moms. Suicide Squad earned more than $746 million worldwide. Currently, Hernandez plays "Thomas Magnum" in the remake of Magnum P.I, which premiered in September 2018. He and his wife, Daniella Deutscher, live together in Los Angeles, California.
