Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet are no longer together after over a decade of marriage. Momoa took to Instagram on Wednesday to post a joint statement from the two of them, sharing the surprising news that the two stars have decided to separate.
Momoa and Bonet "parting ways in marriage"
Momoa and Bonet began their statement by mentioning the "transformational times" the world is experiencing at the present moment, mentioning how they have brought about "seismic shifts" in people's lives. "And so~ We share our Family news," they went on to say, "That we are parting ways in marriage."
While the former couple did not reveal what caused them to split up, they revealed what led them to make a statement about the change in their relationship status. Momoa and Bonet explained that while they do not consider the separation "newsworthy" themselves, they want to be able to live their lives "with dignity and honesty" moving forward.
There do not appear to be any hard feelings between the two, with their separation seeming to be a mutual choice. "The love between us carries on," their statement continues, "evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived." Momoa and Bonet married in 2017, and were together for 16 years prior to their split. We hope their decision to go their separate ways brings both of them happiness!
