Janie Liszewski has paid tribute to her ex-husband Eddie Van Halen, opening up about her relationship with the late rockstar on social media. As Entertainment Tonight shares, Liszewski's post comes one day after the news that Van Halen had passed away after battling throat cancer, and it's certainly a bittersweet one.
Liszewski says she and Van Halen always "have a connection"
Liszewski took to Instagram to post a photo showing her and her husband's feet on a beach, with the ocean in the background. She shared that she feels her "heart and soul have been shattered into a million pieces" after the death of Van Halen, who she married in 2009. "I never knew it was possible to cry so many tears or feel such incredible sadness," she remarked.
"Our journey together has not always been an easy one but in the end and always we have a connection and love that will always be," Liszewski went on to say. "Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I have ever had to do so instead I say so long, I will see you again soon in a place with no pain or sorrow. Please watch over Kody and I. We love you and miss you so very much." As Entertainment Tonight mentions, Kody is the couple's dog.
Liszewski's tribute for Van Halen follows several others
Liszewski isn't the only one to honour Van Halen's memory over the past few days. The news of the rock star's passing was initially shared on Twitter by his son, Wolfgang. "He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift," Wolfgang tweeted. "My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss."
Van Halen's ex-wife, Valerie Bertinelli, also took to Twitter to pay tribute to her late husband, who she separated from in 2007. Metal singer Ozzy Osbourne even penned an essay for Rolling Stone to commemorate Van Halen, calling him "brilliant". See Janie Liszewski's Instagram post paying tribute to Eddie Van Halen here!
