James Franco's Best Movies - So Far

James Franco always dreamed of becoming an actor and was prepared to work hard to follow his dreams. While taking acting classes, he also worked at McDonalds to support himself and practiced his new learned skills on his customers. His hard work paid off, and he is now a legend in Hollywood! Here are some of his best movies so far! 

One of James Franco's earliest roles and one that would make him famous was as the title character in 2001's biographical film James Dean. James took his role very seriously and literally became James Dean on and off-screen! He dyed his hair blonde, learned to ride a motorcycle, and even started to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day to really get into character! 

One of James Franco's biggest and most successful roles to date was that of "Harry Osborn", "Spider-Man's" best friend in the Spider-Man trilogy. James was originally slated to play "Spider-Man" himself until Tobey Maguire was cast! The pair made a dynamic duo, and the films were all box-office successes! 

In 2008, James Franco showed off his versatility in the biographical film Milk. Starring alongside Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, and Emile Hirsch, James played the boyfriend to Penn's lead character "Harvey". The film received outstanding reviews, and James won a Best Supporting Actor award for his role!

2008's Pineapple Express is one of many successful films starring both James Franco and Seth Rogen. In fact, the two have become synonymous in Hollywood and have appeared in over eight films together! With films like Pineapple Express, it is easy to see why they are a comedic duo to be reckoned with! 

Getting James Franco nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor, was 2010's 127 Hours. Franco stars at the center of this biographical survivor drama, and it is a must see if you haven't seen it yet! 

James Franco had become a household name in Hollywood when he was cast to star in 2011's Planet of the Apes. With a $93 million U.S. budget, the special effects added with James Franco's talent made the film a huge success! 

Proving himself capable of any role, James Franco switched to crime films in 2012 with hit film Spring Breakers. We just loved James as a gangster in this classic film, which also starred actresses Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez! 

James Franco would land the lead in 2013's Oz the Great and Powerful, the prequel to 1990's novel turned film, The Wizard of Oz. Franco even turned down other roles in favor of the film, and he is set to star in a sequel after its success! 

James Franco kept audiences laughing as a fictionalized version of himself in this apocalyptic comedy! Also starring Jonah Hill, Emma Watson, and Seth Rogen, This Is The End is a must watch if you are ready for a good laugh!
