In a recent interview with Balance, film veteran Jack Black spoke about the appeal of an "early retirement" from acting. "I'm kind of enjoying the idea of early retirement... I've been saying for a long time that this is the last movie."

"We’ll see. I’ve got a couple of tricks up my sleeve. But not too many. I'm looking to wrap it up pretty soon. Ride off into the sunset."

Jack Black: "Maybe I'll do a TV show..."

When asked if the decision stemmed from spending more time with his family, Black said it was a "big part" of it. "I spend too much time away from home. Maybe I’ll do a TV show here in [Los Angeles], so I can work the 9 to 5 and then get back home." For now, Black plans to take it "day by day" instead of making an end-all decision.

But that doesn't mean that we will never see him on the big screen again. "[...] if something comes up, you know, obviously if [Quentin] Tarantino comes a-knocking, I'm gonna do that movie!"

Good to know! For now, Jack Black is back theaters with Jumanji: The Next Level which comes out December 12 2019.
