- Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are getting divorced
- They have reached irreconcilable differences
- THIS is what Joe did
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were, for many people, one of the most beautiful couples in all of Hollywood. Relationships are hard for everybody, but it can be especially difficult when yours is in the public eye. Singer Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner had a good thing going for a while, but now it is officially over.
Joe Jonas has reportedly filed for divorce for Sophie Turner after consulting several law firms, before making his decision official.
Joe and Sophie will live only in memory now
According to documents obtained by 'Us Weekly', the 34-year old singer filed on Tuesday, September 5, and stated that his marriage to Turner, 27, was "irretrievably broken." The petition also noted that although Jonas and Turner’s two daughters have been residing with him in Florida, it is "in the best interests of the minor children that the parties have shared parental responsibility."
Turner and Jonas got married in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas on May 1, 2019. The couple had a daughter, Willa, in 2020, and last year had another daughter whose name they have not made public.
Like millions of men who have gone through the same predicament, despite taking care of his children primarily, Joe will also have to share custody of them with his soon to be ex-wife. The now former couple, who have a prenup, sparked speculation after many reports claimed that Joe had retained a divorce lawyer after running into serious problems in the marriage.
Also interesting:
On top of all that, Jonas and Turner were both recently spotted without their wedding rings, which came one month after the pair sold their Miami mansion. So, it seems like all the signs were there all along in recent times!
Representatives for the two superstars did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the media, and probably won't do so any time soon. It's unclear what the next step in their separation is.
But perhaps now, both Joe and Sophie will want plenty of time to assimilate their new reality without each other.
