• Anna Sorokin is released from prison
  • But there are strict requirements
  • She is no longer allowed to use social media

After the release of the Netflix adaptation, Inventing Anna everyone knows who Anna Sorokin is. For years, the alleged German millionaire heiress Anna Delvey lied to New York high society to enable her to live an exclusive life of luxury. Due to her impersonation, Anna Sorokin was sent to jail in the US in 2019. Despite having an early release, she was imprisoned again 17 months ago for not having a visa.

But now Anna Sorokin has been released from prison - under certain conditions. In addition to $10,000 bail, Anna is to be under house arrest, which will be electronically monitored. She is not allowed to use social media platforms, such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or TikTok.

"It was the right decision. She has not been accused of committing a crime since 2017," said Anna's attorney John Sandweg. The social media ban will be a real challenge for Anna, because she has more than a million followers on Instagram (as of October 2022).
