- Here's what she said about the singer
This news has shocked the world: Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, died on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires. He was only 31 years old.
Liam Payne's Ex Maya Speaks Out Before His Death
In a podcast interview with 'The Internet Is Dead', released just two days before his passing, Liam's ex-fiancée Maya Henry revealed that he often hinted at death during their final conversations.
Despite their breakup in May 2022, Maya stated that Liam continued to reach out to her. She shared insights into his mental health, saying, "He would always message me, ever since we broke up, like ‘Oh, I’m not well’ — he would play with death be like, ‘Well, I’m going to die. I’m not doing well'."
Even after their separation, Maya offered her support, saying, "I was like, 'If you want to go back to rehab, I'll help you,' even though you know, whatever. Not that I ever wanted to be back with him, but he's still somebody's child. He's somebody's brother. Like, if that were my brother, I would want someone to help him, too, but…in the end, I felt like it was manipulation."
Liam's struggles in 2022
In 2022, Liam made headlines for lashing out at his former bandmates during an appearance on the 'Impaulsive' podcast, which left him "devastated" and prompted him to withdraw from the public eye. "I just needed to take a little bit of time out for myself actually because I kind of became somebody who I didn't really recognize anymore," he shared in a YouTube video. He then sought professional help and spent 100 days in a rehabilitation clinic to address his challenges.
