Melissa Benoist's husband Chris Wood is actually her second husband! The Supergirl actress was previously married to her former Glee co-star Blake Jenner, which certainly had its ups and downs...
How Melissa Benoist Met Husband Chris Wood
Melissa Benoist's first husband was Blake Jenner, whom she met on the set of Glee. Benoist starred in the hit musical series from 2012–14 as "Marley Rose", and Jenner from 2012–15 as "Ryder Lynn". The pair then became engaged in 2013 and married in 2015, although Melissa had once stated that the two had been married "longer than anyone knows."
Melissa and Blake then divorced in 2016 citing "irreconcilable differences". It would only be a matter of time until she'd meet her next co-star...
When Melissa gained the role as "Supergirl" in 2015 for the DC comics series Supergirl, her future husband was still working on the CW series The Vampire Diaries. By the time he joined the Supergirl cast in 2016 as her love interest, their flame for each other equally burned in real life!
The pair were first seen in the public eye together in March 2017 as they made their way from Los Angeles Airport to Mexico, showing off some PDA with each other. Two years later, they announced their engagement in February 2019! They exchanged vows soon after in September 2019 and welcomed their first child, Huxley, in September 2020!
Benoist has appeared as "Supergirl" other DC shows like The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman. Chris Wood recently reprised his role as "Kai Parker" on The Vampire Diaries spin-off Legacies.
Melissa Benoist and her husband Chris Wood really do make a dream team!
