- Jane Fonda will be 85 in December
- She is well aware of her age
- But Fonda has a greater fear than death
Jane Fonda is not concerned that she is "closer to death." The 84-year-old actress says she is "super-conscious" of her advanced age. But there's something else that occupies her mind these days.
Jane Fonda's greatest fear
More than death itself, Jane Fonda fears that her body doesn't function the way it once did. That's on her mind more than how many years she has left.
Speaking to CBS Sunday Morning, Fonda said: "I'm super-conscious that I'm closer to death. And it doesn't really bother me that much. What bothers me is that my body is, you know basically not mine! My knees are not mine, my hips are not mine, my shoulder's not mine."
Also interesting:
But the actress, who currently stars on Grace and Frankie, insisted she doesn't care that she isn't as flexible as she once was. In her mid-80s, Fonda says it's an achievement simply to be "still alive and working" at all.
For Jane Fonda, age is just a number
Jane Fonda explained: "The fact that I'm still alive and working, wow, who cares if I don't have my old joints? And I can't ski or bike or run anymore? Enh. You know, you can be really old at 60, and you can be really young at 85."
One thing that Fonda has changed as a star in her 80s? She no longer drinks alcohol. Not even one drink.
She now finds it more difficult to function the next day if she drinks — so no more alcohol.
