Alana Thompson a.k.a. "Honey Boo Boo" and her family were incredibly memorable. What has her dad Mike Thompson a.k.a. "Sugar Bear" been up to?
Honey Boo Boo's "Sugar Bear"
Alana is the spunky daughter of "Mama June" and "Sugar Bear". While the pair weren't legally married, they considered themselves husband and wife. They even had a "commitment ceremony" in 2014 while wearing matching orange and camouflage outfits!
The two had a bitter break up after "Sugar Bear" was caught cheating and "Sugar Bear" then married Jennifer Lamb. Alana then went into the full-time custody of "Mama June" who unfortunately got tangled in an abusive relationship and drug addiction.
Unfortunately, as we saw play out on Mama June: Family Crisis, it seems as "Sugar Bear's" priorities also did not include Alana as he left her to be raised by her older sister "Pumpkin" and her husband. His wife also cruelly demanded a paternity test be taken on Alana, claiming she was not his daughter.

Alana and her older sister became very close and she even helped "Pumpkin" raise her little daughter with her brother-in-law. On Mama June: Family Crisis, we sadly got to see Jennifer's claws come out and try to take custody of Alana from her sister claiming "Sugar Bear" was the better parent. The truth came out that "Sugar Bear" barely contacted Alana and only texted her when court dates came up or when the cameras were around.
Jennifer also loved the attention and titled herself "Honey Boo Boo's Mom" for a magazine cover about her weight loss that played out on the show!
It seems now, "Sugar Bear" has backed off and given Alan the space to be raised by her sister where she would like to be and the two appear to have a much better relationship now.
We love watching spunky Alana and can't wait to see what she and her wild family do next!
