The world lost a legend on January 22nd, 2008. Prominent actor Heath Ledger had just finished wrapping up The Dark Knight when tragedy had suddenly struck and took his life. We remember when he starred as the high-school bad boy in 10 Things I Hate About You with Julia Stiles, all the way to being Jake Gyllenhaal's lover in the drama Brokeback Mountain, which earned him an Academy nomination for Best Actor. He was able to portray any role, putting all of his time and effort into perfecting that one role.
His portrayal of the "Joker" in The Dark Knight also earned him many awards posthumously, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor, a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor, and the Best Actor International Award at the 2008 Australian Film Institute Awards.
