Singer Celine Dion (53) would have opened her new show in Las Vegas in just two weeks. But now the singer had to break some bad news to her fans: The concerts will be delayed. The reason for this is some serious health issues that Celine has been facing for the past while. A press release posted by Celine on Instagram stated:

"As Celine Dion has been preparing for the November 5 opening of her brand-new show in the beautiful, new Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, unforeseen medical symptoms have forced the singer to delay the opening and cancel the performances scheduled from November 5 to 20, 2021 and January 19 to February 5, 2022."

Celine Dion suffers from muscle spasms and has to cancel concerts

Celine Dion suffers from "severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing." The medical team has been and will continue to treat and take care of her, however, the 53-year-old cannot continue to rehearse for the concerts at this time. It was more than difficult for Celine to cancel the upcoming shows.

She writes on Instagram: "I'm heartbroken by this. My team and I have been working on our new show for the past eight months, and to not be able to open this November saddens me beyond words." Dion also expresses sadness in letting those down who have been working tirelessly on the new theatre space.

In particular, she apologizes to the fans who have planned to travel to Las Vegas. "I'm especially sorry for disappointing all the fans who've been making their plans to come to Las Vegas. Now I have to focus on getting better... I want to get through this as soon as I can."

The Courage World Tour is still set to begin on March 9, 2022.

She released the album Courage two years ago in November. The "My Heart Will Go On" singer has had regular appearances in Las Vegas from 2003 to 2019. After the five-year "A New Day" show, Celine Dion paused for some time, also in 2014 and the following year, to take care of her husband René Angélil († 73), who had cancer.

We wish her a speedy recovery!
