In a dramatic twist fit for Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein, the former film titan now infamous for his fall from grace, has been whisked away from the harsh confines of Rikers Island to the medical care of Bellevue Hospital. Facing a cocktail of serious health issues including COVID-19, pneumonia, diabetes, and more, Weinstein's saga adds yet another chapter.

  • Harvey Weinstein is in hospital
  • They took him out of jail with several health issues
  • THIS is what's wrong with him

He's not well

Harvey Weinstein, once a towering figure in the movie industry, finds himself in the throes of a health and legal nightmare! The 72-year-old former producer, awaiting a pivotal retrial in New York on grave charges of rape and sexual assault, has been transferred from the notorious Rikers Island jail to Bellevue Hospital's locked ward. The reason?

A daunting list of health issues, including COVID-19 and pneumonia in both lungs! Weinstein's health saga reads like a tragic script.

According to his publicist, Juda Engelmayer, and prison consultant, Craig Rothfeld, Weinstein isn't just battling the coronavirus and pneumonia; he's also grappling with diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, and fluid accumulation in his heart and lungs.

“We continue to express our gratitude to the officers, doctors and nurses” in the city’s corrections and public hospital systems “who saw to it that Mr. Weinstein was immediately transferred to the Bellevue Hospital Prison Ward,” said the publicist, Juda Engelmayer.

The backdrop to Weinstein's health crisis is a legal drama of epic proportions. Convicted in 2020 of rape and sexual assault, his conviction was later overturned by appeals judges, sparking outrage and disbelief.

Yet, Weinstein remains behind bars, partly due to a 16-year sentence from a separate conviction in Los Angeles in 2022. Despite these convictions, Weinstein has steadfastly denied all allegations of rape and sexual assault.
