- Gwyneth Paltrow was one of the most famous actresses around
- She quite acting after becoming a mom
- THESE are her reasons for leaving the industry
In a candid cover story with People magazine, the Goop queen confessed that she hasn't taken center stage in a movie since her daughter Apple came into the picture. Gwyneth is now more than an actress
The Oscar-winner, who shares Apple and her cool brother Moses with rockstar ex-hubby Chris Martin, admitted that motherhood was a game-changer. "It just, everything felt redefined for me," she said. No more months-long shoots away from her kiddos; Paltrow's got her heart set on being a present parent.
Paltrow explained that after she gave birth to her daughter, Apple, who is 19 years old, her priorities shifted away from winning Oscars and starring in blockbusters, and she zeroed in on being a mom.
"Well, it's kind of ironic because I really stepped away from acting when Apple was born," said the 51-year-old. "The last time I was in every scene of a movie was when I was pregnant with her."
"I thought, ‘I'm not sure that I want to do this so much as a career’," stated actress. She also mentioned, "I definitely don't want to...I’m not going to go away for months on end."
Like mother, like daughter?
"It's so fun to have a daughter that age, especially because she's into clothes and skin and all that kind of stuff," she confessed. Paltrow added, "She's more girly than I am. She's really good at doing makeup and loves to do it. She's such an eminently nice person, and her values are in the right place."
But wait, there's more! Paltrow's mini-me Apple isn't just a spitting image of her mama; she's also a Goop devotee! Apple's all about that Goop life, using the products like a pro. No pushy sales tactics here; Apple naturally gravitated towards mom's lifestyle brand, making Paltrow beam "from ear to ear."
Since launching Goop in 2008, Paltrow has transformed from Hollywood A-lister to wellness warrior, and it seems like Apple is following in her fabulous footsteps. Who needs the big screen when you've got a family legacy in the making?

Asked if her daughter teaches her new skills, the proud mom said that although she doesn't wear much makeup, she learned a thing or two from Apple. "It's great because she's plugged into the cool stuff, and not the rubbish-y, depressing part of our culture," the actress explained.
"We were FaceTiming yesterday and she was telling me how she uses all the Goop products. I never pushed anything, but over time she's just migrated over to it, and so I was beaming from ear to ear."
So, what's the takeaway from Paltrow's latest tell-all? Family first, and the rest will follow. And in true Goop fashion, a little self-care goes a long way, especially when it's a family affair!
