Gwen Stefani drops new single
Gwen Stefani's latest single "Let Me Reintroduce Myself" is a Latin inspired pop song that focuses on her power as a female singer, and reminds everyone that she's still got the chops!
Taking a small hiatus in the last few years of releasing solo music, Stefani and her newly engaged beau Blake Shelton have been working hard at sharing music together and appearing as judges on The Voice.
It's a big week for Stefani as her solo single also has come out within a week of the No. 1 single on the Billboard country airplay chart with Shelton, "Happy Anywhere."
Talking with Zane Lowe of Apple Music, Stefani revealed that she wasn't really planning on releasing new music, but that it all happened organically.
"I fantasized about it but I was also like... I don't know," she said. "I always think about artists that I loved growing up, and I think I just want to listen to the songs that I like that they did. And that's nostalgic for me."
She elaborated and said, "I never expected to be writing, but it was in there. And it's been really, really incredible."
"I mean, there's just nothing else that I do in my life, and I have done so many things, that makes me feel ignited the way a new song makes me feel," she added.
Noting that the reggae and Latin inspired sounds goes back to her No Doubt days, Stefani says, "It was just a full circle, back to my roots, I know what kind of music I want to make."
