- Gérard Depardieu is facing another allegation
- A second co-star accused him of abuse
- THESE are the details of the case we have
The world of glitz and glamour is rocked once again as French actor, 73, faces a fresh sexual assault complaint! Hélène Darras, has courageously stepped forward, lodging a complaint against the cinematic heavyweight for events that allegedly unfolded on the set of the 2007 dance comedy 'Disco.'
Full details of Hélène Darras’s allegations against the French star will air on the French investigative news show 'Complément d’Enquête' on Thursday evening.
Depardieu better have a good lawyer
Depardieu, Oscar-nominated for his performance in 'Cyrano de Bergerac' and one of the best-known and most successful European actors of his generation, has denied all charges against him.
Darras was 26 when she had a walk-on role as a contestant in a dance competition in 'Disco,' a comedy in which Depardieu co-starred.
"He looked at me as if I were a piece of meat," Darras said of Depardieu in an interview excerpt, recalling that he "came up to me and then passed his hand over my hips and buttocks."
At the time, Darras said she did not report the star out of fear for her future career. "I was an extra. I hadn’t even finished theater school. I really wanted to be an actress and I didn’t want to be blacklisted at 26," she said.
The Paris Prosecutor's Office received the complaint on September 10, as reported by local media. Thursday's show promises to unveil more on the mounting allegations against Depardieu, including footage of him speaking inappropriately to a young female interpreter in North Korea.
The fear of industry blacklisting kept Darras silent at the time, a decision that haunted her. There are so many stories coming out lately that echo very similar sentiments when it comes to high profile men taking advantage of lesser known artists. The psychological toll was heavy, leaving her with a sense of emptiness and invisibility.
Depardieu, who has been embroiled in controversy with multiple sexual assault allegations, some dating back decades, earlier denied all allegations in an open letter in 'Le Figaro' newspaper. However, Darras joins actress Charlotte Arnould, who in 2018 accused Depardieu of rape, in taking the legal route.
Arnould's lawyer expressed shock at Depardieu's denial, expecting the courts to uphold the truth of her client's allegations. Depardieu's legal team at Cabinet Temime has been contacted for comment on these new allegations.

In May this year, investigative news website 'Médiapart' published an in-depth report detailing allegations by 13 women. Two separate allegations formed part of an investigation by French radio station France Inter.
Depardieu has denied all charges and, in October 2023, published an open letter in French newspaper Le Figaro defending himself. "Never, ever have I abused a woman," he wrote. "To the media court, to the lynching that has been reserved for me, I have only my word to defend myself."
He continued by saying he is "neither a rapist nor a predator" but would not be getting involved in "any projects" given the "context" of the allegations.
