In the second season of Friends, Lauren Tom played the role of "Ross'" (David Schwimmer) girlfriend and old graduate school colleague, "Julie." Unfortunately for Tom, "Ross" broke up with "Julie" after "Rachel" (Jennifer Aniston) admitted her feelings to "Ross" and fans still to this day think that their break-up was rather harsh!

Lauren Tom's Early Career
Since her time as "Julie", Lauren Tom has been very active in the entertainment industry with appearances in many series and films, and even some voice work in the video game industry! Born on August 4, 1961, Lauren originally got her start in theatre when at just 17 years old she was cast in the Broadway production of A Chorus Line.

Lauren then decided to dip her toes in the film and television business. One of Tom's most credible film roles is the film The Joy Luck Club (1993). Her most prominent roles on the small screen include in Superman, Grace Under Fire, DAG, and Men in Trees.
She also had starring voice roles in the series King of the Hill, Batman Beyond, Futurama, Codename: Kids Next Door, W.I.T.C.H., American Dragon: Jake Long, The Replacements, and Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia.
Lauren Tom's Personal Life
Lauren married Glenn Lau-Kee in 1982, however that marriage didn't last. In 1999, she wed fellow actor Curt Kaplan and they have two sons together, Oliver and Leo.
