According to a new book in honor of the legendary series Friends, Jennifer Aniston was just another young working actress with impossibly high beauty standards. Before actually becoming famous and starring in Friends, Jennifer Aniston had only minor roles in television and she was actually told she had to lose weight.
"She had to lose thirty pounds if she wanted to stay in Hollywood,” Saul Austerlitz wrote in Generation Friends: An Inside Look at the Show That Defined a Television Era. But that didn't mean that she was fat, but that “Los Angeles was a tough place to be an actress — it was a tough place to be a woman — and Jennifer Aniston’s agent was reluctantly leveling with her," such as Austerlitz added.
Jennifer Aniston revealed that she had a terrible diet
We all know that the camera can add ten pounds to stars and that's why they have to take care of their physical appearance. In 1996 Jennifer Aniston opened up about this for "Rolling Stone" and revealed that it was hard for her especially because before being famous she had a guilty pleasure snack: "I ate too many mayonnaise sandwiches. Mayonnaise on white bread –— the most delicious thing in the world.”
Jennifer Aniston also revealed that her agent was pretty honest with her and said that she was not getting lots of jobs because she "was too heavy." Good news is that the Friends star took it very well and she actually learned how to make healthier decisions regarding eating habits: “I was like, ‘What?!’ But my diet was terrible. Milk shakes and French fries with gravy,” she said with a laugh. “It was a good thing to start paying attention.”
As soon as she started to lose weight she landed the role of "Rachel Green" in Friends, one of the most iconic characters of all time!
